Phase One is a design and drafting firm founded by general contractors with a focus on producing plans that are focused on construction and budget. The designer will work directly with residential clients, general contractors, engineers, investors, architects, and our field superintendent to develop and implement a design concept for renovations and new construction. The position will work closely with county and city officials as well as HOA boards to solve construction concerns in an effort to remain in compliance and produce construction ready permitting documents. The designer will be heavily involved in spatial planning.

Responsibilities

·         Customer interaction from discovery phase to final delivery of construction and permitting documents.

·         Meeting with clients regularly to discuss specifications related to the design of their space.

·         Ability to adhere to a design schedule outlined by production to meet design deadlines

·         Site visits to oversee design and topography and to execute As-Builts

·         Attend social industry functions such as BIA events, client events, real estate & marketing events.

Internal Duties

·         Create CAD layouts including wall elevations and fixture placement (HVAC, plumbing, electric).

·         Create design details such as millwork, cabinetry layouts, custom fixtures etc.

·         Incorporating the clients design style and inspiration into the plans.

Qualifications

·         Ability to read and interpret construction documents

·         Basic spatial knowledge

·         Basic understanding of building codes

·         Excellent interpersonal skills

·         The job is autonomous and the ability to work as a team and assimilate to our culture is crucial.
